The 2010 PA Route 6 Artisan Trail Brochure will be distributed to all trail participants, visitor centers and the PennDOT Welcome Centers along the PA Route 6 Corridor. The brochure contains the largest number of artisans, galleries, studios and retail shoppes since the start of the Trail six years ago. Twenty-two artists’ studios are open to the public free of charge. The Tour provides a wonderful opportunity to meet Wayne County’s talented and diverse artists in their working environments. Studio Tour Headquarters is The Hanson Gallery & Decorium at 1037 Main Street, where you can pick up a brochure with map and see sample works of Studio Tour artists. Volunteers will be on hand to help plan your route and provide driving directions.

Located in the restored 1871 Kane Railroad depot building, ArtWorks is an Artisans’ Cooperative gallery selling original art and fine crafts alongside displays of local historical significance. Also sells Holgate toys,fine wooden toys made here in the northern Alleghenies.

Jack Paluh is well known amongst lovers of wildlife and scenic painting. Called a “storyteller”, his paintings reveal tales of 18th Century Eastern Woodland Indians and modern day hunters as they interact with the landscape and wildlife.

This gallery and shoppe features over 12 artists from northern Pennsylvania and the Pennsylvania Wilds. The featured exhibit is “Walk through Nature” showing the work of artist, author and illustrator Fred Lawrenson (one of his paintings above).
